Others… you feel.
There’s a crusty little ledge behind the Boneyard Deli. We used to session it back in the early 2000s.
It’s not on Google Maps. You won’t find it on the ‘gram.
But that ledge?
It remembers things.
Not even a real bench — just a chunk of broken concrete with enough flat to sit on.
That’s where I learned what skateboarding really is.
It’s where you sit, rest, watch.
And maybe, if you’re quiet enough, the spot talks back.
Ever been somewhere and just knew how to hit it?
Like… you didn’t plan it — your body just moved right.
That’s the whisper.
It doesn’t always come. But when it does, don’t rush it.
Skate it. Respect it. Leave it better than you found it.
Next time you find a weird little spot —
a crusty bank, a narrow ledge, a forgotten curb —
don’t just skate it.
Listen.
Because skating isn’t just pushing wood.
It’s carrying stories.
And sometimes… it’s just sitting on a slab of concrete, sharing a fizzy drink, waiting for the clouds to move.
See you out there.
