Woke up with griptape dust in my sheets and a banana stuck to my sock.
Pretty standard.
Threw on the same pants from yesterday (and the day before), grabbed my board, and dipped.
No plan. Just the usual—find curb. hit curb. repeat.
Here’s how a classic Crusty day plays out:
Hit the servo for a $2 iced coffee and a squished ham + cheese toastie.
Gourmet? Nah.
Fuel.
Also snagged a 2-pack of donuts I found in the “reduced to clear” bin. No shame in the hunger game.
Cruised to the parking lot behind the shops—home of the sacred red curb.
It’s chipped. It’s waxed. It’s perfect.
Dropped a bit more wax. Rubbed it in with the bottom of my shoe (Crusty pro move).
Board feels soggy.
Deck’s on its third life.
Grip’s peeling at the edge like a cold pizza slice.
But when I hit that slappy just right?
Pure poetry.
Look, it ain’t pretty — but neither am I.
You don’t need shiny gear or fresh kicks to skate.
Just a board, a spot, and the will to grind through the grime.
That’s the Crusty way.
So if you see me out there—grip dirty, pants ripped, snack crumbs flying—
say what’s up.
But bring wax. And maybe a donut.
